Apprentice Prevention Days: Safety begins with our youngest members
/ News
In order to further increase the safety and awareness of our young employees, apprentice prevention days were introduced for the first time. In collaboration with the apprentice representative, the occupational physician, and the occupational safety department, a varied series of stations was created, through which our apprentices were guided.
What was covered in the training?
• Safe use of hand-held equipment
• Safety data sheets & hazardous substances
• Correct use of PPE
• Microlearning via Quickspeech
• Assembly & dismantling of trestle scaffolding, safe ladder positioning
• Order & cleanliness on paths and in workplaces
• 5S workshop on accident reduction from lean management
• Obstacle course with time measurement – trip hazards made visible
Special reality check:
The effects of alcohol and drugs were impressively demonstrated with drunk goggles – an important eye-opening experience for all participants. In addition, the occupational safety department highlighted the role of social media in everyday working life, which is becoming increasingly relevant to safety.
Focus on health:
The occupational physician conducted hearing tests to identify early signs of stress and raise awareness of noise protection.
Modern communication:
Short-cycle, nonverbal communication techniques made safety messages particularly catchy – perfectly tailored to the next generation.
Conclusion:
The prevention days combined practical experience, health knowledge, and modern learning methods – a valuable contribution to the safety and personal development of our young employees.
